On May 31, 2021, the community of Winchester unexpectedly lost one of the finest young men this city has known, Clint A. Nichols.

Clint grew up in Winchester and was a 2001 graduate of John Handley High School. He is the son of Gary and Dale Nichols and brother of Jeremy Nichols; all Handley graduates and Winchester community members. Tragically, Clint passed leaving behind his wife, Anny, and newborn son, Willis.

Clint was a natural connector with a positive and magnetic presence, enduring faith and a multitude of accomplishments. Clint’s years at Handley established a foundation of leadership, service, and integrity that he built upon throughout the remainder of his life. Clint attended Roanoke College where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He then worked on Capitol Hill as a special assistant to the late Senator John Warner, and later served on multiple presidential campaigns. In 2013, Clint graduated from the University of Richmond Law School and subsequently entered private practice specializing in healthcare law. Just as he had in Winchester, Clint became an active member of the Richmond community by volunteering for various organizations to benefit others. Clint would tell you that his greatest accomplishment and joy in life by far was that of being a husband and father.

Clint’s friends and family have created the Clint A. Nichols Memorial Scholarship to continue his legacy. It will honor his life through an annual scholarship given to a local John Handley senior that possesses the similar character traits, love of life, Handley pride and the community citizenship that Clint possessed.
